We could not have wished for a more special first goal at Anoeta. Imanol Agirretxe, who scored so many goals during his career as a txuri urdin player, received a beautiful tribute today that ended with him scoring a goal next to the Aitor Zabaleta seating section. That moment will remain in our memories as the first goal at the new Anoeta.
Agirretxe was awarded Real’s Gold and Diamond Badge by President Jokin Aperribay in the presence of the club’s all-time top scorer, Jesús Mari Satrustegui. He also received a gift from FC Barcelona that was delivered by its captain, Leo Messi. After the awards ceremony, Agirretxe walked towards the Aitor Zabaleta box to end his career with one final goal at Anoeta. It was an honor to see him spread his wings and fly at home one last time.
