It was hot at kickoff which altered the pace of the game. The hosts went all out from the beginning and tried to reach Moyá’s goal. On their behalf, the realistas, true to their style, had the control of the ball and attempted to get themselves near the opponent's goal. However, there were not clear scoring opportunities in the first half. Before the break, the best chance fell to Illarra but our midfielder’s strike was stopped by Reina. The goalkeeper hardly touched the ball but he avoided to put the bermellones at a disadvantage.
In the second half, Real dominated the majority of the game. Imanol’s team had clear scoring chances but they failed to make the most of them. Oyarzabal was close to open the scoring with a powerful shot whereas Illarra’s strike did not find the back of the net. We were close to victory when Portu and Ødegaard connected to put Real ahead in the 81st minute. Martin scored a great counter-attack goal to give the txuri urdin the three points.
