REAL SOCIEDAD 0-1 SEVILLA FC

A step back

Real Sociedad suffered a defeat against Sevilla tonight in a match where their lack of effectiveness once again proved costly for the txuri urdin team. After a strong start, Imanol’s side missed a valuable opportunity to to climb up the table.

The game kicked off with clear dominance from Real Sociedad. The txuri urdin created several good chances, particularly from set pieces, to take an early lead. Zubeldia nearly scored with a header, and Aguerd came close with a left-footed volley. Real was looking sharp in attack, with Becker taking a first-time shot from a cross by Sergio, and Óskarsson also threatening from the edge of the box. Sevilla only managed to trouble Marrero with a shot from Lukébakio, which was well saved by our keeper.

The second half did not start well for the txuri urdin, as the Andalusians took the lead with a well-placed shot from Ejuke. In response, Imanol made a quadruple substitution to shake things up, but it was Sevilla who nearly scored again. Marrero just managed to fingertip Isaac's shot onto the post. The side from San Sebastian struggled to find their attacking rhythm during the second half; despite easily reaching the Sevilla area, they failed to create clear goal-scoring chances.

The demands of the season are becoming evident. Maintaining performance levels is challenging, and Real Sociedad is finding it hard to be consistent this year. The league standings are getting more complicated, but everything remains tightly contested, and there will be chances for all teams. In the meantime, we will continue to dream big in Europe, where we face an exciting challenge on Thursday. We are Real.
