La Real will play in the European competition for the third consecutive year, a milestone achieved only once in history. Imanol's side thus emulates the champion team of the 80's and, with today's victory against Cadiz (3-0), ensures its participation in Europe next season.
The txuri urdin started the match well and took an early lead with a goal by Sorloth. Silva provided a good assist for the Norwegian who beat Ledesma by passing the ball under his legs. From that moment on, la Real enjoyed their best minutes. Merino had a good chance to score with a header after a cross by Rico. In another similar move from the other flank, Silva put in a cross that Zubimendi headed over the top.
The second half started in the best possible way. Silva was awarded a penalty and Januzaj made no mistake from the penalty spot. The goal was a hard blow for Cádiz whereas the txuri urdin continued to dominate the game comfortably. In the final minutes, in a clever move, Portu caused a penalty that he himself transformed to make it 3-0.
