Agreement for his transfer to Arsenal FC

Real Sociedad and Arsenal FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of Martin Zubimendi to the English club.

Martín Zubimendi is leaving the Txuri Urdin club after playing 236 official matches. He made his first appearance during the 2019-2020 season against Getafe CF and quickly established himself as an essential starter. Having been part of Zubieta’s youth system since the age of fourteen, the Donostiarra has been a role model for all. His commitment, high standards, and consistent top-level performances have been key in leading the Txuri Urdin from midfield. With Martín on the pitch, the team has enjoyed some of its best results in recent history. His presence brought stability and confidence, contributing to memorable seasons highlighted by a Copa del Rey title and five consecutive qualifications for European tournaments, including the Champions League.

But Martín has been much more than that.

He has realized the dream of every Guipuzkoan child: to play for the club of their heart and become a star in the first team. He leaves behind an impressive career and, above all, the deep love and respect of all the Txuri Urdin supporters. Now, he sets out on a new challenge, and we wish him the very best of luck.
