REAL SOCIEDAD 3-1 REAL MADRID

Best farewell game ever

Vídeo

We have to bite the bullet. Today Real beat Real Madrid 3-1 at Anoeta in which was their last game of the season at home. Real put in a very good performance. Vallejo was sent off in the first half and the txuri urdin sentenced the game in the second half thanks to goals by Merino, Zaldua and Barrenetxea. We still believe we can achieve something great here.

The match did not start well for the txuri urdin team. Brahim Díaz right footed shot found the back of the net and put Real Madrid ahead. Real reacted well. Oyarzabal’s goal was disallowed but Merino scored the equaliser in the 25th minute. Before half-time, Vallejo was caught with a hand ball in the penalty area and was shown a red card. Willian José failed to capitalise on this great opportunity, right footed shot saved in the centre of the goal. Real could have added a second before half-time but the result was 1-1 at the break.

With 10 men, Real Madrid were disadvantaged. In the second half, Real came out fighting and dominated the game, pushing forward into Real Madrid’s half. In the 56th minute, Joseba Zaldua’s header from the right side of the box found the back of the net and put us ahead. We were taking the lead but we had to drop our guard. Ten minutes later, Barrenetxea scored his first official goal for Real Sociedad with a right footed shot from the left side of the box to the bottom left corner. 3-1. The game was sentenced.

We will fight until the end. Real’s next match is next Saturday at the RCDE Stadium. We will certainly have an attempt at it. Why not? Aúpa Real!
