This morning, the president of la Real Sociedad Jokin Aperribay and Carmen Garmendia, president of the board of Matia Fundazioa, have signed a cooperation agreement at Zubieta.
This agreement will make possible that people resident in Matia Fundazioa centers will be able to participate in the Reminiscence Workshops. This activity is directed to elderly people with cognitive impairment. They do memory exercises through the evocative power of football. The benefits would be many: the exercises improve memory, creativity, socialization, self-esteem and well-being both of the elderly people and their families.
This activity is carried out in the Rezola center and is invigorated by FEAVF (Spanish Football Federation of Seniors).
This agreement will also allow the people participating to enjoy the different activities related to the txuri-urdin team: free visits to la Real Sociedad´s museum and the Anoeta stadium or attend to the first team training session at Zubieta.
For its part, the Real Sociedad Foundation will be recognized as MatiaZaleak, the initiative that gathers all people who identify and cooperate with Matia Fundazioa´s purpose.“Accompany people who are aging by generating knowledge and customized services that foster their autonomy and dignity”.
