La Real fell to Real Madrid at the Reale Arena (0-2). The txuri urdin played all of the football and created a hatful of chances but ultimately Real Madrid’s clinical streak saw them secure the spoils.
The txuri urdin showed real intensity and tempo in the first half. It was la Real who enjoyed the opening chance, with Isak trying his luck with a header that was cleared off the line by Militao. The Whites put pressure and remained comfortable in possession, specially after Benzema pulled up. Imanol’s side played very well and looked to carve out chances. Then, the ball fell kindly to Oyarzabal but his strike found nobody to get on the end of it. Real’s defensive work was very good and had the last chance of the first half through Oyarzábal, who sent the ball into the side-netting.
Shortly after the re-start, Ancelotti’s side had a chance to open the scoring as Rodrygo fired in a warning shot that was denied by Remiro. In the very next move, Vinicius put Real Madrid front. Ten minutes later, Jovic extended Real Madrid’s lead following a corner. That was a hard blow for the txuri urdin who gave it their all in the final minutes but to no avail.
The realistas need to stay positive and get off this bad run as soon as they can. This is just a run they have to go. Next Thursday, Real will face PSV. Aupa, Real!
