Farewell, captain

Asier Illarramendi will leave la Real at the end of the season. The footballer from Mutriku will appear in the media room at the Reale Arena at 11:30 am.

He joined Zubieta when he was eleven years old. The little blond kid who did wonders grew up and we saw him grow up. Step by step, stage by stage, dazzling everyone with his simplicity, both on and off the field. The architect of many of the best moments of the last decade. Asier leaves la Real having played 251 official matches in the txuri urdin jersey and having experienced a unique moment that will always remain in the txuri urdin history: lifting the Copa del Rey to the sky of Seville. He was lame and was unable to play the final, but that moment made him eternal. His photo collecting the trophy, after all the tears shed the day before, is one of those iconic moments that the realistas will never forget.

Illarra leaves the best Real Sociedad of the last decades. In large part, thanks to everything he has contributed to the squad in these eleven years as a member of the first team. He has overcome injuries and has offered a very high level. He has Zubieta character. He is 'made in Gipuzkoa'. We can only thank him for everything he has done for the Club and give him the best possible farewell. In ten days, we will bid farewell to our captain at the Reale Arena and, hopefully, we will have reached our objective. Join us and shout at the top of your voice:  “¡Axi, Axi!”.
