Historical goals

Last night was magic. The match, the win and the image displayed by Eusebio Sacristán´s team are a major milestone in the history of la Real. The score achieved in Macedonia breaks some of la Real records over its 100 years of history.

The win against FK Vardar (0-6) has made the highest European score of their history. Thus, the team break the record of (4-0) against Rosenborg BK. Since yesterday, the 3-0 result against FC Dinamo Moskva in the UEFA Cup 98-99, occupies the third spot in the ranking.

Since the season 46-47, la Real didn’t set such a goal record. During the match against Barakaldo FC (LaLiga 2), the txuri-urdin players scored 7 goals thanks to Campos hat-trick and the goals by José Mari Pérez, Castivia, Ontoria and Vázquez.

On an individual level, it was the first time that a txuri-urdin player scored for goals in a european competition. Willian José became the first player in the UEL history who scored four goals away. The last player who did it was Pedrín (season 40-41), he scored four goals during the match against Valladolid (LaLiga2, 3-6). Real moved into the first division then and won Valladolid 14-2 in Atotxa.

Yesterday´s was also Mikel Oyarzabal´s debut as a striker in the UEL. Diego Llorente also scored two goals during his first European match against Rosenborg.
