We’re heading to Seville. We deserve it. Five years after lifting the trophy, we’ll battle for it once again, this time backed by thousands of txuri urdin fans set to fill La Cartuja. Their voices and passion will drive the team on, just as they did tonight at Anoeta to secure our place in the final with a 1–0 victory over Athletic Club.
Nights like this make all past struggles worth it. Feeling every emotion with your team, surrounded by loved ones, is one of life’s most beautiful experiences. Celebrating at home, with your people, is a memory we will never forget. It’s just football, but when moments like this arrive, moments you truly deserve, they feel extraordinary. Shared joy is simply sweeter.
After a few tentative minutes, Real settled into the match and controlled proceedings efficiently. The clearest chance of the first half came from a cross by Guedes that Soler, right in front of goal, was unable to turn home. La Real were the better side, yet the scoreboard remained unchanged at the break. And that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing.
The second half followed a similar rhythm. Jon Martín went close twice with headers, but the ball sailed over the bar, the best chances for the home side. Berenguer’s low, angled shot was the only real attempt from the visitors. In the final moments, a penalty was awarded for a foul on Yangel, and Mikel Oyarzabal, as always, stepped up and calmly scored, sending us through to the final.
Seville is set to shine on April 18. Thousands of Real Sociedad fans will flood the streets, draping the Andalusian capital in txuri-urdin. Let’s dream of lifting another trophy! We’ve earned it! Bat, bi, hiru, lau, bost, sei, zazpi, Real!!!!!
