The bad run continues. Real Sociedad lose to Deportivo Alavés at Anoeta in their last match of the year. This is the fourth straight defeat for the realistas who saw the babazorros pick up the three points after an early goal by Calleri. The result is not coming and the situation is getting complicated.
The txuri urdin players suffered in the first ten minutes of the game. The visitors warned Real early on that they would be dangerous and in the 10th minute they took the lead through Calleri, who scored with a header. However, Real did not give up and Theo and Juanmi were close to score the equaliser. Still, Pacheco made great saves to avoid their goals.
In the second half, Real went all out for the equaliser. Willian José handled the ball inside the box and the referee didn’t penalize the player for it, which annoyed the visitors. Abelardo’s team went all out for the second goal whereas the team from Guipúzcoa had to take risks. The clearest chances on goal fell to the boots of Willian José and Oyarzabal. The first of them, tried to score with a header that went just wide. Oyarzabal’s left-footed strike from inside the box could have reduced the arrears for the hosts but the ball did not find the target. This is not the best way to start the Christmas break but we must get back in our feet! Aúpa Real!
