Tonight Real Sociedad drew against Levante at Anoeta in a match which they could have won. However, they were unable to kill the game off and rescue one point.
After last Sunday’s bad result, Real wanted to put a good display at home and compete until the end in order to win the match. Tonight, Real needed to take a massive step towards the aim of getting to the UEFA Europa League and go into the LaLiga break happy. Imanol’s team looked good from the start and dominated the game. In the 27th minute, Januzaj was put through on goal by Theo Hernandez and slotted home to give Real a deserved lead. The txuri urdin could have added one more goal before the break but they failed to find the back of the net. On their behalf, Levante did not create goal scoring opportunities.
The second half started similarly to the first, but the granotas grew into the game. Real were unable to add a second and Levante had their chances. In the 80th minute, Levante tied through Mayoral.
Real take a step back as far as Europe is concerned. This is a heavy blow but we must continue working. Aúpa Real!
