Real Sociedad tied in the final minutes. The txuri-urdin team earn a point in their second match away from home. Real dominated the biggest part of the game and took the lead from the very beginning. Garitano’s team, who returned ‘home’, were better for most of the match and were ahead at the break (0-2).
The match started off on the right foot for the locals but Real did not take long to score. Zaldua played a long pass and Zurutuza picked it up and drove it forward into the box. Before, Juanmi was was one-on-one with Cuellar but he missed the opportunity. It was a harbinger of goal. With Real taking the lead of the game, the locals were discouraged. Moments later it was Illarra who drove forward and expertly placed the ball into the far corner to make it 2-0 for Real. Real were showing determination and seriousness. Simple and practical. Leganés did not give up and as a result, they came on strong in the second and reduced the arrears through El Zhar. The team from Guipúzcoa were not the strongest side anymore and the locals were determined and having the better of the game.
