CHELSEA FC 3-1 REAL SOCIEDAD

Pre-season comes to a close

Real Sociedad brought their pre-season to a close this afternoon with a demanding 3-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The hosts took the lead in the 10th minute through Morgan Rogers, who reacted quickest to a rebound after Remiro had made an excellent save from a powerful Joao Pedro header. The txuri urdin responded well and gradually took control of the game, creating several chances before finding a deserved equaliser just before half-time, when Aramburu produced a spectacular long-range volley in the 45th minute. Chelsea came out strongly after the break and regained the lead just two minutes into the second half, Joao Pedro heading home from James' cross. The hosts continued to control the game and, despite Real Sociedad's efforts to find a way back, Joao Pedro completed his brace in the 77th minute after being played through by Malo Gusto, sealing a 3-1 victory. The match at Stamford Bridge brings an intense and demanding pre-season to an end, with Pellegrino Matarazzo's side now turning their attention to the start of the official season.
