Promotion dream fulfilled

Sanse has earned a well-deserved return to Segunda División after overcoming Nàstic this afternoon in Zubieta. Last week's 3–1 away win in Tarragona gave the Potrillos a vital edge, which they managed carefully in a tightly fought second leg that went to extra time. Despite a 2–1 defeat on the day, the aggregate score secured their promotion back to professional football after three seasons.

The Donostiarras had a date with history and came out all guns blazing from the first minute. Mikel Rodríguez came close with a volley that drifted wide following a cross from Astiazaran, and moments later, Astiazaran nearly opened the scoring himself with a clear chance at the far post, latching onto a superb ball from Balda — but his shot flew over the bar. As the first half progressed and the game evened out, the Catalan side struck first in a stroke of misfortune for Sanse: Jaume Jardí whipped in a cross from the right that evaded everyone and ended up in the net. The goal gave Nàstic new life, and they pushed for a second, but the home side held firm to go into the break trailing just 0–1.

Sanse came out firing once more in the second half, showing the same energy that had defined their playoff run. They came agonizingly close to equalizing when Goti's powerful header shaved the outside of the post. As the clock continued to wind down, the Potrillos held firm, knowing their goal was within reach. But in the final stretch, the referee pointed to the penalty spot after Arana brought down Víctor Narro inside the area. Joan Oriol stepped up and converted the spot kick, bringing the score to 0–2 and forcing the match into extra time. Once again, the fate of the tie would be decided over 120 minutes.

Sanse is back in Segunda! After a remarkable season, the Potrillos will once again compete in Spain’s second tier — a milestone that crowns a campaign full of effort, ambition, and belief. This promotion is more than just a sporting success; it’s the reward for a long-term vision rooted in player development and a deep commitment to Gipuzkoa. What’s happening in Zubieta isn’t just football — it’s identity, it’s culture, it’s a way of understanding the game and shaping the future.

This is a triumph of values, of patience, and of pride. Past, present, and future come together in this moment.

Congratulations! Zorionak! Aupa Sanse!
