Real keep climbing. On San Sebastián Day, the txuri urdin drew 2-2 in Vallecas in a match in which they lagged behind Rayo. In the final minutes, the realistas pushed everything they had to try and get the goal to get the three points but they were unable to do it.
The first half was not good. The realistas felt uncomfortable whereas the hosts were putting in a spirited performance. The locals had already scored two goals in half an hour with goals by Santi and Embarba which put Real in a very difficult position. However, the realistas reduced the arrears before the break. Héctor was put through on goal by Illarra and the Mexican brilliantly headed home to score the first goal for Real. Rayo were ahead at the break.
In the second half, Real tried to draw level and started dominating proceedings. On the other hand, Rayo were unable to find a route on goal. Despite Real dominating possession comfortably, Alguacil’s team did not create many chances on goal. The best chance fell to Zubeldia’s boots but he didn’t find the back of the net. In the final minutes, Real gave their all out there and Willian José leveled the score after a great play from Oyarzabal and Januzaj. Moreover, Juanmi and Sandro could have made the breakthrough in added time. Finally, both teams shared the point tonight, a valuable point in 2019. Aúpa Real!
