Real keeps the winning streak alive

Real keeps riding the wave. The txuri-urdin secured a 3-1 victory over Elche in a remarkable match, a result they could have sealed much earlier given the numerous chances they created. Goals from Sucic, Oyarzabal, and Óskarsson gave the txuri urchin side another win.

The game started, as expected, with both teams looking for the opponent’s goal. After a few early attempts from Elche, Real took the lead through Sucic, who beat Peña with a low shot. Those were the best minutes for Matarazzo’s men, and they doubled their advantage thanks to a defensive error from the visitors, which Oyarzabal capitalized on. Sadly, just before halftime, André Da Silva reduced the deficit with a well-placed cross shot.

The second half began with a goal from Marín ruled out for a very tight offside. Oyarzabal had a chance to put the game beyond doubt with a solo run, but his shot went over the bar. A strike from Diang, saved by Caleta, almost leveled the score, and after a shot from Turrientes, the newly introduced Óskarsson failed to score with Peña already beaten. The striker made no mistake on the next opportunity, in a move identical to the one at Mendizorrotza. He faced Peña and scored at the near post to seal the win.

Three more points for a Real side that continues riding the crest of the wave, a perfect way to head into Wednesday’s semifinal.
