Real picked up a point against Villarreal on tonight’s match at the Reale Arena. It was a very close match between two teams that gave a good account on themselves. Gerard scored to give Villarreal the lead whereas Oyarzabal earned the txuri urdin draw.
The game quickly saw Villarreal take the lead. The referee pointed to the spot and Gerard made no mistake from 12 yards. Real kept fighting and went in search of the equaliser. Barrenetxea almost drew the hosts level but his effort was denied by Asenjo. Later, Pau brought down Le Normand and Oyarzabal made it 1-1. Both teams were strong in every facet of the game.
Except for Willian José’s effort at the beginning of the second half, there weren't any real notable chances with the team keeping it tight at the back to pick up an important point.
