Real run riot

Real Sociedad produced a dominant display at La Rosaleda this afternoon, securing a convincing 5-2 win over Málaga. The txuri-urdin were highly effective in attack, taking control of the match from the outset and responding decisively whenever the home side threatened to get back into the game. The three valuable points keep Real Sociedad firmly in the upper reaches of the table.

The visitors came out with intent and wasted no time in opening the scoring, with a spectacular strike from Kubo outside the area setting the tone. Real Sociedad kept their foot on the gas and continued to threaten Alfonso's goal. Their pressure paid off when Óskarsson reacted quickest to a loose ball and finished coolly in a one-on-one to double the lead. With the match firmly under control, the txuri-urdin managed the game intelligently and headed into the break with a commanding advantage.

Málaga emerged for the second half with renewed purpose and pulled one back through Adrián Niño. However, Real Sociedad responded immediately, with Oyarzabal finding the net to restore their three-goal lead. The hosts reduced the deficit again through Pablo Martínez, but the txuri-urdin captain struck once more almost immediately, slotting home a precise low finish after a high press to make it 4-2. Shortly afterwards, Guedes pounced on a loose ball in the area to add a fifth and put the result beyond doubt.

It was a brilliant away performance packed with goals as Real Sociedad returned to winning ways. With little time to rest, the txuri-urdin now turn their attention to Thursday's Europa League fixture against Lillestrøm, where they will look to carry this momentum into Europe.
