Real Sociedad sign Héctor Fort

Real Sociedad and FC Barcelona have reached an agreement for the transfer of Héctor Fort to the Txuri-Urdin. The Gipuzkoa-based club has also agreed personal terms with the Catalan defender, who has signed a contract through to the end of the 2030/31 season.

Born in Barcelona in 2006, Héctor Fort joined La Masia in 2013 and worked his way through every level of FC Barcelona’s youth academy before making his first-team debut in 2023. He made his senior debut in a UEFA Champions League match against Royal Antwerp. During his time with the Blaugrana first team, he made 30 appearances.

Last season, Fort joined Elche CF on loan, continuing his development while gaining valuable experience in the top flight. He made 17 appearances for the club, scoring three goals and providing two assists.

A versatile defender, Fort is comfortable operating on either flank, with the ability to play both right-back and left-back. His explosiveness down the wing and his ability to get forward and make an impact in the box are also among his standout qualities.

Fort now arrives in Donostia to add youth, versatility and plenty of potential to the squad.
