Real Sociedad and Girona FC have agreed on the transfer of Yangel Herrera to the txuri urdin club, with the Venezuelan midfielder signing until the end of the 2029/30 season.

Born in La Guaira, Venezuela, in 1998, Herrera began his career at Atlético Venezuela, making his professional debut in the Venezuelan top flight. Manchester City signed him and loaned him for two seasons to New York City. In January 2019, he moved to SD Huesca on loan, where he spent half a season, marking the start of his LaLiga journey. Subsequent loan spells included Granada (two seasons) and RCD Espanyol (one season), before joining Girona on loan. After a standout season at the Catalan club, Girona made the move permanent.

After three years at Montilivi, Herrera is now set to join Real Sociedad. A midfielder full of energy and versatility, he arrives to strengthen the central areas of the pitch. Already a Venezuelan international alongside Jon Mikel Aramburu, Yangel now becomes the newest member of the txuri urdin family. Ongi etorri, welcome!

"Continuing to develop at a great club".
