La Real fell to Getafe in a match in which the txuri urdin conceded in the first half and at the beginning of the second half. Their reaction was not enough and the realistas come away empty-handed from Madrid.
Getafe is not an easy pitch. The first few minutes of the first half gave way to a penalty for the locals that Remiro magnificently stopped. La Real didn't manage to create good attacking opportunities almost until stoppage time. Then, a counter-attack ended with a powerful shot by Sorloth that went wide. Unfortunately, just before the break, Enes Unal scored a free-kick to put the home side ahead.
The script remained the same following the restart, with Aleña adding a second for Getafe and complicating matters. However, la Real reacted quickly and, just three minutes later, Brais Méndez scored with a header from a perfect cross by Cho. The goal spurred the side from San Sebastián, who began to play as they usually do and looked dominant with a chance falling its way when Merino tried his luck with a header. The hosts limited themselves to defending, but on a counter, Enes Unal came close to scoring the third with a shot that went just wide of the post. The Realistas tried to equalise until the end, with Silva and Merino searching for the goal that would give them the draw.
A defeat that slows down the Realistas' league pace. However, they must turn their focus to their second Europa League match on Thursday. Go, Real!
