“Thrilled and ambitious”

Erik Bretos, Real Sociedad’s Director of Football, spoke to the media following the close of the winter transfer window.

Commenting on the club’s latest signing, Wesley, Bretos said: “He was one of the brightest talents in Brazilian football, and we’ve known him since he was young. He’s a promising, talented player, and we believe he can make a very positive impact at the Club.”

Regarding Pellegrino Matarazzo, Bretos acknowledged: “Changing the coach was a difficult moment, but we knew it was a decision we had to make. We’re very pleased with him—he has fully understood what Real Sociedad is about. He’s connected with both the team and the club, made a real impact, and you only have to see how the team competes.”

Looking ahead, Bretos expressed confidence in the squad: “I’m very excited about what lies ahead, and the team feels the same.
