Real Sociedad added another point after drawing 1-1 against RC Celta de Vigo. The match seemed under control thanks to Barrene's early goal, but Mingueza, in a messy play inside the box, managed to equalize in injury time.
The txuri urdin came out all guns blazing, just like last week. Carlos Fernández came close to scoring the first goal with a header, but Iván Villar prevented it. The best opportunity for Vigo came shortly after with Hugo Sotelo's shot hitting the post. Real Sociedad continued to press, and the goal came. Take's cross from the right and a header from Barrene at the far post put the side from San Sebastian ahead. The realistas completely dominated the game after the goal. Just before half-time, Brais came close to sealing the victory with a powerful shot from outside the box, but hit the post.
The txuri urdin wanted to have the control of the game in the second half, although with less accuracy than in the first forty-five minutes. Right after the restart, Bamba had a close-range chance to equalize, but Remiro was crucial in clearing the ball. Aspas also came close to leveling the match. One of the few chances for Real Sociedad in the second half came from a cross by Aihen that Brais sent over the crossbar. Vigo pressed hard in the final minutes, and after a couple of serious warnings, Mingueza's goal came in injury time after capitalizing on a rebound inside the box.
We were close to celebrate the first victory of the season. But that will have to wait. We'll keep fighting for it. Next up for Real is a game in the Canary Islands against UD Las Palmas. Aurrera Reala!
