Real Sociedad concluded the Japan Tour with an exciting match, securing a 2-0 victory over Tokyo Verdy. González de Zárate scored just before halftime, and Zakharyan added a second in stoppage time. This perfect ending to the trip strengthened our ties with Japan and solidified our partnership with Yasuda Group.
The Japan National Stadium saw a magnificent turnout, with nearly 50,000 spectators, many wearing the Txuri Urdin jersey, to witness a match where Real Sociedad dominated and created the best chances. Aritz hit the woodwork after a beautiful solo effort. In the last minute of the first half, González de Zárate put Real Sociedad ahead with a shot from the edge of the box that the goalkeeper couldn’t stop. In the second half, Real Sociedad maintained their superiority, with few goal-scoring opportunities except for a great save by Marrero from a shot by Yamada. In stoppage time, Zakharyan sealed the victory with a cross-shot from the edge of the area.
The team now heads back to Gipuzkoa to start a well-deserved vacation. The upcoming season promises even more excitement. Have a fantastic summer, everyone. We are Real.
