After the game against Valencia CF, Yuri Berchiche and Juanmi looked over events on field in the company of Real Sociedad TV.
“We are all very happy – especially after the previous game, which didn’t turn out well for us. We were keen to offer a different impression here at home and get back on the positive path we were on, and also try to start the game intensely like we had been doing – I think we put in a good performance overall”, Yuri began. “
The full-back admitted that in the end, it turned out to be a slim win for Real Sociedad: “When we found ourselves leading 2-0, we felt comfortable and in an isolated move we had a penalty go against us… but we also need to know how to manage those kinds of scores. Having said that, the team responded well after conceding a goal which isn’t easy to do”.
During the final minutes of the match, fans began chanting “Yuri, Yuri” – a gesture which touched the player. “I’m very happy, as I have always said I always try to give the very best of myself for the team, that all of my team mates benefit. And I give my best every day in training, so that I can feel comfortable when I am out on the pitch”.
Striker Juanmi replaced Willian José for the second half of the game and scored the team’s third goal with a great, back-post finish. “In the end, the score was closer than we expected but the team but in a brilliant display – the kind of game which is good for all of us to have. We’re happy with the win, and three more points – let’s hope we can continue building up even more”, he said. “We’re not going to change the dynamic of our game. Let’s hope we can put in another good performance and gain another win next week against Granada”.
