REAL SOCIEDAD 2-0 REAL MADRID

What a team!

La Real took a giant step forward in their fight for the fourth place by beating Real Madrid (2-0) at the Reale Arena. A superb match from the txuri urdin that, with goals from Kubo and Barrene, were given a huge boost to face the final stage of the championship.

Both teams produced a bright start to the match. A shot by Tchouameni called Remiro into action whereas in the Madrid area, Courtois was tested on a couple of occasions by a txuri urdin team that was playing magnificent soccer. Silva went close but he was unable to capitalize on an assist from Sorloth. Shortly after, from a corner kick, Zubimendi, stretching his leg in a forced position, sent the ball over the crossbar. Before the half-hour mark, in a very clear action inside the area, Oyarzabal was tripped up but the referee did not award a penalty and the VAR did not intervene.

La Real came out all guns blazing in the second half. A mistake by Militao gave la Real the lead as Kubo, very attentive, shot the loose ball into the net to open the scoring. Real Madrid were reduced to ten men when Carvajal was sent off and the txuri urdin were able to have much more possession, while playing at a slower tempo. In the final minutes, in a fine individual move, Barrene beat Courtois to put the game to bed and make the Reale Arena rock.

A magnificent triumph for an amazing team. This squad deserve great merit. Aurrera, Reala!
