It has taken hard work and dedication but la Real got back to winning ways after beating Elche CF (2-0) at the Reale Arena. Two beautiful goals by Kubo and Barrene gave the Realistas a much needed victory to get back to winning ways and regain winning feelings.
The txuri urdin needed and urgent victory and stepped out on to the pitch all guns blazing and with the intention of coming out victorious at the Reale Arena, something that was not happening lately. Imanol's side monopolized the possession of the ball, reaching the goal defended by Badía with relative ease and frequency. Kubo had two good chances to score in two unsuccessful shots. Sorloth, in a fine individual move was unable to send the ball in front of the keeper. Zubeldia, on a rebound, lacked a bit of speed to finish comfortably and not send the ball to the corner, as he was overlapped by a defender when he was about to strike almost from point-blank range. La Real deserved to be ahead at the break.
At the start of the second half, the Txuri Urdin managed to open the scoring. A superb Silva, provided a perfect assist to Kubo, who beat Badía with a low shot. Shortly after, in a beautiful attacking move, Silva finished off a ball from Gorosabel that Badia pushed away and Sorloth failed to finish. The side from Guipuzcoa dominated the second half whereas Elche did what they could. In the final minutes, in a high quality action, Barrene added a second after beating Badía with a precise crossed shot.
