A great night for la Real. The txuri urdin came away with the three points from the Nuevo Los Cármenes after beating Granada CF 2-3 in an intense match in which didn’t get off to the best start. However, a brace by Aritz and a goal by Merino helped their side secure the spoils.
It’s not easy to come from 1-0 down. La Real started dominating the play but the hosts had a lifeline on 9’ when German headed home. The txuri urdin attacked and put pressure on but were unable to turn the situation around.
In the second half, la Real knew showed great character to do so. Oyarzabal’s drive was pushed away by the keeper for a corner. Moments later the deadlock was broken and the txuri urdin scored the equalizer through Aritz. This time, Elustondo notched the first with a wonderful finish with the inside of his foot. The realistas kept pushing and eight minutes later, Merino turned the scores around with a crossed shot. La Real were even close to add a third but Merino hit the keeper after a perfect assist by Sorloth. The match was under control when the referee awarded a penalty to Granada CF. Next, Milla slotted home from the penalty spot. In spite of the hard blow, the txuri urdin did not lose faith and after some changes went ahead through a brace by Aritz. The player from Beasain scored after the ball was not properly cleared by Maximiliano after Januzaj’s finish and gave la Real the victory.
The txuri urdin bag three crucial points at the Nuevo los Carmenes and have their attentions firmly fixed on a vital week which brings another LaLiga tie: next up is Elche on Sunday at the Reale Arena. Aupa, Real!
