La Real lost against FC Barcelona at the Camp Nou (2-1). It was a tough tie but the hosts were more accurate than the txuri urdin.
Both teams performed similar, pressed high up, kept the tempo up and tried to play in their opponents half while leaving spaces behind. The hosts did not have clear chances in the first half. The clearest chance in the opening half fell to Willian José. The Brazilian got on the scoreboard with a great piece of play between Portu and Le Normand after a corner kick. Not long later, Jordi Alba unleashed a powerful straight into the top corner. FC Barcelona grew into the game and started to dominate possession. Griezmann tried his luck but his ball cannon hit the post. Just before the break, De Jong put the hosts front.
La Real started the second half much stronger but did not create goal scoring opportunities. Barça had more presence in the opposition half. After a quick-counter attack Willian José was knocked down by Araujo but Sánchez Martínez did not blew for it. That was a clear chance. Real had great chances to level but Ter Stegen did brilliantly to deny Isak, who had a great chance to snatch an equaliser but to no avail.
Barça ended La Real’s 9-game unbeaten run in LaLiga. Next up for La Real is a match against Levante on Saturday. Aupa Real!
