La Real picked up a point against Valencia at Mestalla in an even match in which neither of the two teams were able to clinch all three points.
La Real went out all guns blazing. A couple of quick actions by Portu made it clear that the txuri urdin wanted to clinch all the three points. The clearest chance of the first half came from a free kick by Oyarzabal that Le Normand headed in. However, the goalkeeper put in a good performance to deny the txuri urdin player. Bordalás' side did not trouble Remiro in the first half whereas la Real were slightly superior in the first forty-five minutes.
The game became a more even affair as the teams emerged from the dressing rooms after half-time. The first chance of the half fell to Valencia after a smart play by Maxi Gómez saw the player one-on-one with Remiro, but the goalkeeper did well to pull off the save. Following la Real’s early attempts, Portu’s shot hit the top corner of the post. Nevertheless, the txuri urdin were unable to create more clear scoring opportunities. In the final minutes, the hosts tried their luck through Bryan but Remiro was on hand to save.
A draw against Valencia at Mestalla this afternoon was a fair result. Aupa, Real!
