Valencia CF 0-1 Real Sociedad

First away win

Real achieved its first away victory by defeating Valencia tonight (0-1). A goal by Carlos Fernández at the half-hour mark secured the three points for the txuri urdin.

The home team started the match better, pressing high and preventing the realistas from controlling the ball. Remiro had to show his best to stop a header from Diego López. After a first uncomfortable half-hour for the side from San Sebastian, a pass from Tierney left Carlos Fernández in a good position, then, he turned around and, with his right foot, beat Mamardashvili near the post. The goal gave Imanol's side some breathing space, and they started to play more slowly. Just before halftime, the home team was reduced to ten men due to Amallah's double yellow card.

Real had a numerical advantage in the second half, but they did not control the game as was expected. The home team made an extra effort to stay in the game but the txuri urdin still held control of the situation to finally win the game and aim to continue their positive momentum after two consecutive victories.
