Real suffered to overcome Getafe this afternoon. The txuri urdin, with changes in the starting lineup, had to give their all to turn around a scoreline that favored the Madrid side at halftime. Goals from Kubo, Oyarzabal, twice, and Brais secured the victory in a tough and dazzling match.
Real started the match very well. A stolen ball in the opponent's third allowed Kubo, after a good pass from Brais, to give the txuri urdin the lead by beating Soria. The difficult part was done, breaking through the usual strong Madrid defense. However, in an isolated action, just before half-time, Aleñá equalized with a header at the far post. In injury time, Mayoral reversed the score from the penalty spot. Almost without realizing it, Real were behind at the break.
Real needed to change the pace of the game, and so they did. A penalty on Brais was converted by Oyarzabal to level the score. Although Damián had a clear chance to make it 2-3, it was Brais who, taking advantage of a failed exit by the visiting goalkeeper, headed in the third goal to restore the lead for Imanol's side. From that moment on, the objective was clear: not to allow more chances to the visitors and slow down the game. Real did it well and sealed three more points, also adding a fourth goal through Oyarzabal. The match seemed already decided, but in injury time, Latasa scored the third for Bordalás' team.
