Heads held high

Everything was going well tonight at Anoeta. However, la Real lost 2-4 against FC Barcelona. The first half was very one-sided, la Real were clearly dominating the game but the culés turned the game around. The txuri-urdin team played a remarkable match but they lost. They were defeated but leave the pitch with their heads held high.

The team were poised for a breaktrough performance. We needed a night to remember. The best team of the moment was in front. It was a big challenge. At first, la Real were strong, doing well and dominating. At the drop of a hat, Willian José scored with a header and Xabi Prieto provided the assist for the goal. In the 34th minute, a top drawer pass by Sergio Canales found Juanmi, who made no mistake with his shot which was deflected beyond Ter Stegen. La Real were taking the lead and full of confidence but in the 39th minute, Paulinho made it 2-1.

The second began with a goal by Suárez, la Real were starting to get in trouble. After the goal, any team could have scored. One point was a good prize but Suárez put Barca ahead with his second of the game. In the 85th minute, Messi’s tremendous free-kick from 30 yards made the fourth for FC Barcelona.

There is nothing to blame the realistas for. They were close to achieve a good result. It was a difficult game. The team will make another try next Sunday. Aúpa Real!
