Finally. Real got back to winning ways after beating Real Betis 2-1 in a brilliant match for the txuri urdin. Real Sociedad pick up the three points at Anoeta after goals from Juanmi and Oyarzabal. Real had to come back after the goal by Canales and they did it in a magic second part.
Real needed this win in order to opt for Europe. Thus, the realistas took control of the game early on and were ready to fight back to winning ways. After connecting with Merino, Juanmi’s header went wide but later, he found the back of the net to put us in front. Betis were creating danger whereas Willian José’s crossed shot was denied by Pau López.
The start of the second half was good for Betis as they came back from a one-nil deficit to score the equaliser. Tello put Canales on goal and the former Real player reduced the arrears for the visitors. Real had to fight again. However, they gave their all after the draw. Willian José was one-on one with the goalkeeper but Pau won the battle. Betis had some goal scoring opportunities. Joaquín came close to net the equaliser but his effort was parried by Rulli. Willian José was once again in the thick of the action ,with his effort being sent wide. Imanol’s team were insisting and were awarded a prize which they deserved. A late goal from Oyarzabal gave Real the win.
