It is always difficult to beat Real Madrid. Today Real had one particularly tough clash. A dubious penalty and a goal ruled for offside left Real without options tonight.
But as odd as it might be to play without crowds, we must get used to it. Tonight’s game started poorly and lacked intensity. Real did not create clear goal scoring chances whereas Vinicious had the first chance of the match just a minute in.
The second half started badly for the realistas. Vinicius got brought down in the box by Llorente and a questionable penalty was awarded to Real Madrid. Sergio Ramos made no mistake from the penalty spot. That was a hard blow for the txuri urdin. Real had the ball in the back of the net but Merino was ruled to have been offside, which was completely unfair. Moreover, Benzema extended Real Madrid’s lead with a cool finish in the box. It was not easy but Real gave their all out there. Merino cut the deficit in half with a brilliantly struck shot. With ten minutes left on the clock, the txuri urdin tried their best but come away empty-handed.
