Real Sociedad made it into the semis of the Copa del Rey. With goals from Oyarzabal and Becker, the side from San Sebastian defeated Celta comfortably to move on to the next round of the knockout competition. The hosts managed to narrow the gap in the final minutes, but the txuri urdin are now just two matches away from a new final.
The realistas took the lead in the opening moments of the match. After a ball got loose in the box, Oyarzabal was in the correct location to tap in a delivery from Merino.The game got off to a bright start. Real controlled the game well and didn’t concede. After a double header in the box, André Silva was put in a very forced position and was unable to hit the goal, denying Imanol's squad a clear opportunity to increase their lead.
The locals attempted to press forward in the second half, but the txuri urdin defended well. In one of those actions, debutant Becker found himself one-on-one with the keeper and beat him low. The match turned quite favorable, and even though Celta sought to push harder, Real managed to keep the game under control despite De la Torre's goal in the final minutes.
