There couldn’t have been a more fitting setting or better figures to unveil the three kits commemorating the 50th anniversary of Luis Arconada’s debut. The Zubieta training facility — his home for so many years (and still is) — alongside our goalkeepers.

From the men’s and women’s first teams to the youngest academy players, a delegation representing both senior squads and our youth system proudly donned the new shirts yesterday, standing alongside their legendary idol and, naturally, right next to one of those goals they defend with fierce determination every match.

“I really liked it — with this shirt, we honor the greatest player in Real Sociedad’s history,” said an enthusiastic Álex Remiro, a devoted fan of Luis Arconada. “It has a vintage vibe; they’re pretty cool,” added Julia Arrula, goalkeeper for the women’s first team. Click on the VIDEO to watch the recording of this special moment.

Accompanying Luis Arconada on this memorable day were some of the goalkeepers representing the present and future of Real Sociedad. Álex Remiro wore the first kit, the blue one, joined by Unai Marrero in orange and Aitor Fraga in green. Also attending were representatives from our women’s section and youth squads: Alazne Estensoro and Julia Arrula from the women’s first team, Maite Mendiburu from the women’s B team, cadet goalkeepers Alejandra Pereda and Oier Ipintza, and Asier Alegre from the under-13s. The txuri urdin goal will be well guarded wearing Luis Arconada’s iconic kits.

Kit Details

The three released kits display two iconic images of Arconada on both the chest and the label. The chest badge is gold and black, featuring the years 1975–2025 to mark the 50th anniversary of his debut. In the background of the badge, as well as on the neck tape, appears the phrase “No pasa nada, tenemos a Arconada” (“No worries, we’ve got Arconada”). Both elements are exclusive to these shirt designs.

The fabric is made from Macron’s patented sustainable Ecomesh material — a lightweight recycled polyester that promotes freedom of movement on the pitch and excellent breathability.
