On a special day dedicated to Basque sport and culture, Real Sociedad players Hamari Traoré, Luka Sučić, and Orri Óskarsson visited the Carmelo Balda fronton to take part in a cesta punta class with professional players from Jai Alaive. Under the guidance of Jokin Arbe, Erik Mendizabal, and Víctor Hernández, the three players picked up the basket and stepped onto the court with enthusiasm and respect for this spectacular and demanding discipline.
This activity reflects the strong integration of our players into the society they live in. Their curiosity and interest in experiencing one of our most iconic and internationally recognized sports first-hand is a clear example of that connection. Sharing laughs, effort, and memorable moments with elite cesta punta athletes has turned them into new fans of the sport.
They’ll surely be among the spectators at the 2025 KUTXABANK Donostia Grand Slam, which kicks off on May 3rd and will bring together the sport’s top players every Saturday throughout May at 6:00 p.m. at the Carmelo Balda fronton.
