It is never easy to comply with logic, but la Real did it. The txuri urdin won 0-1 at Ipurua thanks to a goal by Isak in the first half. Eibar did their best but see the category snatched away whereas the side from San Sebastián take another step forward in their fight to seal their place in Europe.
The armeros proved lively in the first minutes but the realistas looked to take control of the centre of the park, in what was a constant battle to dominate and set the pace of the clash. With 26 minutes on the clock, Isak put the side in front in a first set piece. Then, Isak could have added one more after a delightful team move but his shot was denied by Dmitrovic. La Real took a lead before half-time that proved decisive in its win.
After the restart, Isak could have secured the spoils for Imanol’s men in a one-on-one with the keeper, but he denied him. The hosts were more aggressive at the back and managed to create more chances compared to in the first half. La Real were unable to complete their opportunities, leaving the door open to a comeback. Mendilibar’s side tried their luck several times and were close to grabbing the equaliser but Remiro worked hard to contain their constant forward forays.
