Accompanied by the president Jokin Aperribay, Roberto Olabe appeared before the media at the Reale Arena after extending his contract until the end of the 2025-26 season.
The first to take the floor was the president, who thanked Olabe for "having chosen not to listen to other proposals and for having chosen to stay in this project to continue building la Real. The Club is increasingly solid and strong, and that is due to your work," he said to Olabe.
Olabe stated emphatically: "I am deeply grateful for the opportunity that la Real has given me. I was already a fan since I was a child, for all that Arconada meant at that time, and I am a txuri urdin lover thanks to this club. I am grateful for the opportunities that the Club has given me over time," said the Director of Football.
Ambition continues to grow and that is what excites everyone. “Both Imanol and I believe that there is much to build on and I am very excited to be part of this project, to help it grow, with all sights set on trying to be ambitious without forgetting who we are. The purpose we have at la Real is superb. I feel very fortunate to work with Jokin, with the Board of Directors, with Imanol and with the people who make everything easier on a day-to-day basis," said Olabe.
Future prospects were highlighted by Olabe. "We have to finish consolidating what we are doing. Our best years lie ahead of us. In this stable and mature process, we are able to see our coach grow, the team, the structure, the way we play and what we want, we have to consolidate this way of doing things and continue to aspire to ambitious challenges" he concluded.
