“Zortziak Bat” International Symposium

Proud of who we are

Real Sociedad are currently in Boise, where today they took part in the international symposium “Zortziak Bat,” an event dedicated to exploring the Basque Diaspora and its cultural representations.

Organised by the Basque Studies Foundation, together with Basque Studies at Boise State University and the Basque Educational Organization (BEO), the “Zortziak Bat” International Symposium is a unique educational gathering that Real Sociedad were keen to attend.

Representatives from the txuri-urdin club, alongside colleagues from Athletic Club, took part in discussions about identity, diaspora, and the social responsibility that modern football clubs hold within society.

Later in the day, the documentary “WE ARE REAL BOISE” was premiered to a packed auditorium, offering a special look at Real Sociedad’s relationship with the city. Attendees also had the chance to meet Boise’s vibrant Basque community, guided by Zuhaitz Gurrutxaga, and witness a historic moment: the inauguration of the first official Real Sociedad supporters’ club in North America.

Through this busy agenda, Real Sociedad reaffirm their commitment to extending their international reach and to strengthening bonds with Boise — a city that proudly honours and celebrates its Basque heritage.
