Real win in a hard-fought battle

Real Sociedad secured all the three points from Mallorca, courtesy of a last-minute goal by Mikel Merino. Despite having one more player in the second half, the realistas faced challenges in overcoming the hosts.

The game took an early turn as the locals grabbed the lead in the fourth minute. Antonio Sánchez capitalized on a loose ball inside the box, unleashing a well-placed left-footed shot to secure the first goal for Javier Aguirre's team. The txuri urdin had an opportunity to equalize shortly afterwards, but Zubimendi's shot was saved by the keeper. Just before halftime, following a steal by Zubeldia, Take Kubo managed to reduce the arrears for the visitors with a low shot that beat Rajkovic. The match was now level on the scoreboard, reflecting Real's dominance in the preceding minutes. In added time of the first half, Raíllo received a double yellow, reducing his team to ten players.

After the break, Real further asserted their control, capitalizing on the numerical advantage, though it didn't materialize into clear-cut opportunities. Barrene, with several precise shots near the goal, took center stage in the visitors' attacking chances. In injury time, fueled by Imanol's team's persistence, a header from Merino, courtesy of a pinpoint cross from Pacheco, sealed the victory for the San Sebastián side.

The triumph ends the league winless streak, allowing them to collect three points in LaLiga. On Friday, a new opportunity awaits at the Reale Arena against Villarreal. We are Real.
