A great derby win over Athletic Club at the Reale Arena (2-1). The txuri urdin were superior, specially in the second half.
Today, Real clearly dominated the game and the possession. There were not clear chances in the first half, but Real were the better side. The best chances fell to Portu and Merino. On their behalf, Ibai and Kodro tried their luck but to no avail.
The txuri urdin were much better in the second half. Isak had two good chances but was unable to open the scoring. Real was close to break the deadlock, which they finally did. Isak set up Portu to give Real the lead. A deserved goal. However, the team from Bilbao are experts on building on the opportunities and equalized through Williams. Five minutes before the final whistle, Isak added a second to everyone’s delight.
Today’s win is very important, we sank our derby rivals to forge three points clear in LaLiga. Now, we must focus in the Copa del Rey semi-finals. We’re very excited and are looking forward to the reward. Let’s do this, Real! Aupa!
