Silva announces retirement

David Silva hangs up his boots. The Magician has decided to end his career as a professional football player due to the unfortunate injury he suffered last week.

It is a terrible day for everyone involved in soccer, not just the Txuri Urdin family. A legendary player who has dazzled audiences everywhere he has been is leaving the game. Although we are moved, we must admit—and we do so with great pride—that we have had the pleasure of having one of the greatest talents in the history of this sport during the past three years.

His soccer has taught us a lot. In every game of his career, his filtering passes, controls, ball dribbling, special touch, and ambition have been a treat for the senses and an inspiration to all the young players with whom he has shared a dressing room in Manchester, Valencia, Vigo, or Eibar.

His record is illustrious. Two Copa del Rey titles, a World Cup, two Euro Cup, four Premier League, two FA Cup, five EFL Cup, three Community Shield. We will never forget the day we made history in Seville when we celebrated the Copa del Rey triumph.

The Magician will not wear the txuri urdin jersey again, but he will live on in our memories forever.
