It was not meant to be. Real lost at the Camp Nou (2-1). The txuri urdin played a good match but leave with nothing which reduces the options to achieve the objective at the end of the season.
Real looked good from the start. They put in a good performance and were solid. The first half was relatively equal, without many chances. One was Messi’s goal kick which tipped over the crossbar. For its part, the team from San Sebastián could have gone ahead through Juanmi and Willian José, however, both players were unable to beat Ter Stegen. Just before the break, the locals took the lead through Lenglet, who scored with a header after a korner kick.
The start of the second half saw the txuri urdin side grow into the game. Chances fell to Oyarzabal and Pardo but Juanmi, who was put through on goal by Merino, brilliantly fired the ball into the net. Nevertheless, a Jordi Alba goal just after proved decisive. The realistas kept going until the end, but they could not make the comeback. This defeat complicates the chances of qualifying for the European competition.
