Real defeated Granada this afternoon in a match in which the txuri urdin were clearly superior to Granada. Goals from Oyarzabal and Rafael gave la Real three valuable points which enable them to continue to fight for a European spot.
La Real started the match with a very active Isak, who enjoyed a chance to put his team ahead. However, his final pass did not find Oyarzabal or Januzaj. The Nazaríes also had two good chances that, thanks to an inspired Remiro, they failed to materialize. A handball by Duarte inside the area was punished by the referee and la Real were penalty awarded. The keeper guessed where the striker was going to shoot but Oyarzabal made no mistake and beat Maximiano. In the final minutes of the first half, Imanol's side had chances to double their advantage, but they failed to score inside the box.
After the restart, la Real went in search of more goals but they were unable to capitalise on their chances until Rafael scored his first goal as a txuri urdin player. He got on the end of an Oyarzabal cross, striking the ball into the net to make it 0-2. Granada tried to score and reduce their disadvantage, but the txuri urdin were solid.
A victory that allows the realistas to continue in the top positions of the table. La Real must now turn their attention to the Europa League game which will take place on Thursday in Germany. Aupa, Real!
