As this year marks the 80th anniversary of the nuclear attack on Nagasaki — which took place at 11:02 a.m. on August 9, 1945 — Real Sociedad has honoured the memory of the more than 70,000 lives lost in that tragic event. The entire delegation visited the Atomic Bomb Museum and then made their way to the Peace Park, where they took part in a solemn, respectful ceremony. Vice president Mikel Ubarrechena, head coach Sergio Francisco, captains Aritz Elustondo and Igor Zubeldia, and Japanese player Take Kubo presented a floral offering on behalf of the team, paying heartfelt tribute to the victims.
