Real got back to winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Getafe CF thanks to goals by Willian José and Oyarzabal. This important win boosts the team’s morale which with 9 points at stake, must fight for a place in Europe.
Imanol’s team came out fighting and pushing forward. Real’s dominance resulted in two clear chances but neither Sangalli nor Oyarzabal were able to find the back of the net. Real was penalty awarded thanks to VAR. Willian José converted from the penalty spot to give Real the lead. Getafe did not create any danger, which is rare since they are leading the pack of the table.
In the second half, Real continued to show their courage whereas Getafe were in search of the equaliser. Real bit back through Oyarzabal, who stabbed home after an assist by Willian José. What a goal! The team from Madrid had some chances in the final minutes but Rulli’s performance was superb. In the 85th minute, Saiz scored the first for Getafe, which was not for the faint-hearted.
This victory gets our feelings back and opens doors to hope. We’ll keep fighting until the end. Aúpa Real.
